Nutrients

It is important we eat foods from each food group so that we get all the nutrients our body needs to be healthy.

The major nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates and fats, as well as vitamins and minerals. The table below outlines the main nutrients found in each food group.

Fruit and vegetables Vitamins, minerals, water and fibre
